The perfect pet sitter for our team is an ambitious team player but is also happy to be working on their own.



Assignments for walks and sitting can include morning, afternoon and evenings, during the week or weekends. We believe in maintaining a healthy work-life balance, but you may be required to work some holidays and some weekends.



Overnight pet sitting is our specialty, so being comfortable staying at a client’s home for overnight pet sitting is preferred.



We are looking for dedicated team members with a desire to grow within a local small business and a commitment to our vision.



You must also be very dependable and reliable. We need individuals who can think on their feet and make judgement calls in hairy situations!

Job Description:

Thank you for your interest in the professional pet sitting or dog walking position with Outward Bound Hounds!

As a pet sitter, this active role would require you to drive to each of our client’s homes throughout the day. At each home you will need to follow the client’s instructions for caring for the pets by either walking the dog(s), playing in the yard, feeding, giving medication, feeding cats, cleaning cat litter, and potentially caring for other small pets. Home care is also an essential part of our 24-hour pet sitting service. Some of these duties include taking out or bringing in trash and recycling cans, bringing in mail/ papers/ packages, watering plants, turning lights on and off for safety, laundering linens, wiping off surfaces, cleaning food bowls and or floors. Vacation visit pet sitting, may require a light amount of these tasks.

Visits are completed based upon time frame, visit duration and any additional service(s) that the client has requested.

If your car is not gas efficient this job may not be right for you because there can be a lot of driving (although we do try to minimize your drive time to each home to clients near your home). This job also involves a lot of activity since you will be walking for a good part of the day, even in hot, cold, or bad weather. Please keep this in mind when deciding if Outward Bound Hounds is a good fit for you.

This job is a lot of fun though if you love animals, exercise, and working on your own.

As a Sitter, you will be paid per visit completed. You can expect 3-15 visits per day. The amount of visits you will have is based on your availability, how much you want to work, and how busy we are when you are available.
